ENGINEERING NOTES
Cascading Deadblow Design
A5 buffers use four internal tungsten weights in a cascading deadblow configuration. When the bolt carrier strikes the buffer, each weight impacts the next in sequence — absorbing energy progressively instead of all at once. This eliminates bolt bounce, the primary reliability issue in carbine-length systems where the carrier rebounds off the buffer and short-strokes.
