DESCRIPTION
A5-length 7-position mil-spec receiver extension machined from impact-extruded 7075-T6 aluminum. Hard anodized. 3/4" longer than carbine. Grade B — minor cosmetic blemishes, full function.
ENGINEERING NOTES
Intermediate-Length System
The RE-A5 is 3/4" longer than a standard carbine buffer tube, providing the additional travel distance that makes the A5 system work. This extra length gives the bolt carrier more time to decelerate, which is what produces the smoother recoil impulse. Requires A5-specific buffers and a rifle-length spring — a standard carbine buffer will over-travel and can damage the lower receiver.
